The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada’s first ever International Indigenous Architecture and Design Symposium takes place in Ottawa on Saturday, May 27, 2017.
The symposium promises to be an exceptional occasion with an estimated 120 delegates, including international and Canadian Indigenous architects, allied design and building professionals, students, and interns. Representatives of business, media, academia and government will also gather at the Wabano Centre. Designed by Indigenous architect Douglas Cardinal, the building is a beautiful and culturally expressive place to experience this ground-breaking event.
The symposium will feature and celebrate Indigenous architecture, design, and place-making in Canada and around the world and present best practices and processes. It will be a unique occasion to learn, network and broaden practice and business opportunities.
