The Bank of Canada head office, a landmark institution near the Parliament buildings on Confederation Boulevard in Ottawa, is reopening in 2017 after a three-year renewal project.
The Bank of Canada’s objectives were to transform its workplace; address life safety compliance; and achieve higher levels of sustainability and physical security, while respecting the vision and intent of both Arthur Erickson, design architect for the 1979 glass addition, and the classical Centre Building designed in the 1930s by Marani, Lawson and Morris.
Perkins + Will were charged with the architectural renewal, while DTAH has been engaged to design and implement a public realm and landscape concept.
The tour will begin outside the Bank in the renewed landscape areas, proceeding inside to the ground floor spaces, including the renovated winter garden, office towers and historic Centre Building lobby.
