Transformations: Merging of City and Campus in Windsor

In May 2011 the Provincial and Federal Governments, along with the City of Windsor, jointly announced funding to assist the development of a new downtown campus for the University of Windsor. CS&P Architects were engaged in August 2011 to develop programming and strategies for five downtown sites and multiple faculties. Three of the sites have heritage designation. Throughout the intense process a fresh review has developed about; what does the concept of “campus’ mean?, what impact does the strategic impact of thousands of students have on an existing downtown?, and what are the benefits to the downtown community as a whole.
